Save the Lumberjacks was a marketing campaign aimed at tackling the ever present and devastating issue of deforestation, with a twist.
I spent a significant amount of time researching data and statistics with a view of presenting them in an easily digestible way.
However, at the time, I found that a majority of people were not paying attention to these adverts. Years of being bombarded with these kind of campaigns had desensitised the a large part of the population. I decided to take a different route. Instead of focusing on the trees, the animals or the world at large, I decided to focus on the workers - the lumberjacks.
The idea being that once the trees are gone, where will lumberjacks go?
I produced a series of posters showing an illustration of a lumberjack character "outside of his natural habitat" trying to reintegrate back into society.
Each poster displayed a website link where they could find more information and be able to donate to the plight of the lumberjack through charities such as WWF.
